A Little About Me:
For the majority of my life I have had the ambition to teach and to make a positive difference in my community. I aspire to prepare young people for a fulfilling life and to encourage a passion for the arts in everyone I meet. I see art as a way to express ideas and feelings that can be difficult to put into words. I think anyone can create art, but encouragement in paramount.
I was born and raised in California. After high school I entered a study abroad program so I could spend two months in London, England. I earned a bachelor's degree in studio art from Southern Oregon University, in Ashland, Oregon.
After graduation I came home and went through the teacher credentialing program with National University, located in San Jose. I have taught at schools in Fremont, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Santa Clara, and Merced. During my spare time I have done commissioned art pieces and murals, entered works in a few gallery shows, and offered lessons to children.
My teaching style:
"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." -Thomas Merton
